My name is Lancelot Runge and I’m a faggot in Brooklyn. Scorpio if you’re into that.
I’ve been an artist in some capacity my whole life from drawing, painting, printmaking, making altered books and zines, performing and making music. I lost my vision and drive as an artist to alcohol and drug addiction, but after I got sober, I hit the ground running with my new body of work that incorporates the vibrancy of queerness and being a leather fucker.
I found mentors in the BDSM scene and started playing once my libido returned and that informed almost everything I did as a creative person. I’m inspired by punks, queers, filmmakers, comic books and uninhibited raunchy sex.
The work featured in this issue of DRUMMER are altered photographs (acrylic paint marker and ink) from some of my favorite rags. Up next, I have a series of original works on large archival paper with spray paint, crayon, colored pencil, ink and acrylic paint.
